Suyansh Shedge impressed one and all with his match-finishing abilities during the knockout games of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25. In the quarter-final against Vidarbha, Shedge walked out to bat at number 6 and as a result of his rollicking knock of 36*(12) that consisted of four maximums, Mumbai won that must-win encounter easily. In the same match, Shedge also picked up a couple of crucial wickets in the first innings. Another such impressive performance came during the final of SMAT, where Shedge smashed 36 runs off 15 balls as Mumbai chased down the target in less than 18 overs and won them the trophy. Shedge had chipped in with a handy performance in the semi-final of the season where he took a couple of wickets for 11 runs in 2 overs and hit a six towards the end to clinch the run chase against Baroda. Overall, it was a top effort by Shedge throughout the knockouts and being a part of Punjab Kings in IPL 2025, they should be looking forward to utilizing his all-round abilities in the upcoming season.
